Research output: Book/ReportOther reportpeer-review

Abstract

Transforming Lives is a project commissioned by The World Bank Group and the National Programme for Participatory Development in Cameroon. It is part of Ayisi’s ongoing research in exploring issues around cultural identity, representation, (in)visibility, and social transformations in Africa. Within the wider framework of communication for development, the main strategy for the practice as research project was to use documentary film aesthetics to evidence the impact of development initiatives on the socio-economic dynamics of communities, groups and individuals. The main focus was to show the benefits of participatory strategies in determining the development priorities of communities, especially within the wider context of rural settings in Africa.
