Abstract

This article draws attention to the belief that ELT training organisations are uniquely placed to enact a crucial role with regard to the ongoing global migrant crisis. In describing a collaborative project between a human rights charity and a teacher training department, the article highlights the remarkable educational impact the project had on both trainee teachers and refugees and asylum seekers. It is hoped that the story detailed below, a result of organisational cooperation, will serve as a trigger to encourage other institutions to explore the possibilities that partnerships can present. Although the account described here is based in the UK, it is not difficult to imagine that such partnerships could be set up in many countries across the globe.
