The Inaugural 2012 Organometallics Symposium

Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

The first “Organometallics Symposium” debuted at the Philadelphia ACS Meeting on August 21 and 22.(1) It consisted of an afternoon oral session, a morning oral session, and an intervening evening poster session. The event was cosponsored and generously funded by the organic and inorganic divisions of the ACS, and the journal also contributed resources.

One goal of the symposium was to recognize some of the younger authors who represent the future of the field and the journal. Toward this end, a panel selected eight individuals who had published their first papers as corresponding authors in Organometallics during the three years preceding the abstract deadline. This was a difficult task, and we wish it would have been possible to honor more early career chemists who have supported the journal with very fine contributions. Those chosen are designated as “Organometallics Fellows” and are given in Table 1.
