Abstract

This edited collection brings together a range of histories of youth work from different countries and contexts of Europe, conveying very clearly that the nature of youth work at particular times in particular places is heavily contingent on the political framework and ideological convictions of the day, leaving young people often less rather than more able to shape their own futures through youth work opportunities and experiences.
