Succession Planning within South Asian Family Businesses in South Wales (UK): An Exploratory Study

    Abstract

    This paper investigates five South Asian business entrepreneurs regarding their views concerning succession planning within family businesses. It considers their thoughts regarding their own succession experience,the role of family (including wife and siblings), and aspirations of the second generation to family businesses. Interviews were tape-recorded and access was negotiated with respondents situated within the South Wales region.The findings of the paper provide evidence of how succession planning is being dealt with by South Asian (family) businesses in South Wales
