Abstract

This report provides information on the feasibility of establishing a Health and Social Care Research and Development Network covering Black and Minority Ethnic (BME)Groups in Wales. It also contains the findings of a scoping study to enhance research and development activity in this cross-cutting subject area, and recommendations onhow best to establish a network. Both the scoping study and outline of the proposed network are rooted in the following core factors: The health and social care priorities of BME groups. The health and social care priorities, and the mainstreaming of the equality strategy,of the Welsh Assembly Government Key priorities underpinning the Wales Office of Research and Development(WORD) The work and research priorities of BME voluntary health and social careorganisations, as well as community groups and local, regional and All-Wales Equalities organisations
