Abstract

The South West Wales Safeguarding Older People Project – a partnership programme comprising Age Cymru Swansea Bay, Age Concern Morgannwg, and Age Concern Neath Port Talbot – existed to safeguard older people through the provision of advocacy in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend. It did this in various ways by using a combination of staff and volunteers to listen to and reach out to vulnerable people and advocate for them on their behalf. The programme provided instructed advocacy to those with capacity in their own homes, care homes and other settings.
