Abstract
A reading of John Kippin's 'Romanitas' series of photographs (2014-16), made in the district of Rome known as EUR (Esposizione Universale Roma), exploring the architectural legacy to Benito Mussolini's fascist project. The essay reflects on pictorial traditions from 19th century tourism of classical Rome, through to the neorealist and new wave cinema of the post-war period.
