Abstract

Leading scholars in health, education and welfare have stressed the familiarity problem. Explain what it is, how it might affect any qualitative research you might undertake in your professional work setting, and explore strategies that can be used to “make the familiar strange”, with examples of relevant empirical qualitative research where relevant.
