Abstract
This paper explores the form of digital storytelling as a form of autobiographical performance. It takes as its starting point the work begun by Joe Lambert in California at the Center for Digital Storytelling and continued by BBC Wales in the pioneering ‘Capture Wales’ project. It then moves forward to look at the current work undertaken by The George Ewart Evans Centre for Storytelling at the University of Glamorgan in partnership with BBC Wales. It argues that digital storytelling sits within a tradition of mediated autobiographical storytelling but allows for increased democratic participation in identity-making through the use of increasingly accessible digital technology.
