Abstract

Background There has been a move in recent government policies to address age discrimination in health care and to improve standards of care for older people; based on what older people themselves identify as important to them. It has been acknowledged that older people have not been treated with dignity within the health system. This study, therefore, aimed to review the literature concerning older people's views of nursing care in order to inform the development of guidelines for nursing practice.
