    Abstract

Philip Gross’s first collection of poetry for young people since 1995, this received the Poetry Book Society’s Children’s Poetry Bookshelf Choice in 2010. Lead title in Salt’s new list of quality poetry for children, this collection is derived from and for use in writing workshops with young people, offering writing educators and class teachers themes, exercises and models to encourage complex and demanding poetry writing and reading for all age bands from 9 upwards, as well as being entertaining, thought-provoking and performable poems in their own right. The poem Room Inside was used for the National Poetry Day video, 2010, publicised to at least 5 million school students.
