Abstract

As wireless sensor networks (WSNs) make real-time data collecting and analysis possible, they are essential to many applications. WSNs must strike a balance between connection and coverage goals in order to operate at peak efficiency. In this work, we provide a multi-objective optimization strategy specifically designed for WSN deployment: MOO-BWSND. We show via extensive testing that, as compared to single-objective optimization techniques, MOO-BWSND is successful in enhancing coverage, connection, throughput, latency, and reliability all at once. Our research emphasizes how crucial it is to take connection and coverage into account when designing WSNs in order to improve network performance in a variety of deployment scenarios.
