Abstract

The paper describes Modelcat, a concept for the automatic model generation, simulation and control system design for chemical plant processes at the end of detailed engineering. Based on the use of a simulation model catalogue, the planning engineer can test the plant and optimise its functions before it is built. A prototype realisation demonstrates the feasibility of this approach.
