This case study will also explore representations of Butetown held by those with emotional ties to the area. We are interested in public spaces within Butetown where people have gathered for life-affirming events and regular social activities. We are interested in how such spaces and activities impact on health and well-being, and on notions of belonging and community. The case study was led by Dr Roiyah Saltus, University of South Wales. The story was co-produced with Lisa Heledd Jones (Storyworks UK) The story is one of a series of digital stories housed here: Praisesongs. Praisesongs, wales-praisesongs.org, a creative space and research resource dedicated to the celebration of older men and women of colour living in Wales (and their descendents), and to the development of a digital story archive of their lives. The aim of the website in which this story is housed is to also provide a space in which to reflect on new ways of generating research evidence about the everyday lives of older men and women from diverse population groups that can be used to make an positively impact on their lives. We honour their lives and the role they play as our Elders. This is one story of many that we are collecting as part of Praisesongs.",
