Abstract
The revised Mental Health Act Code of Practice and the Secondary Legislation were laid down in Parliament on 7th May 2008. Subject to the outcome of the Parliamentary process, the bulk of the changes made to the Mental Health Act 1983 by the Mental Health Act 2007 came into effect on Monday 3rd November 2008.
Senior Lecturer in Mental Health John Allen LLB (Hons) presented / won bid to the Center for Excellence in Teaching (CELT) to develop and facilitate a series of seminar / study days with HE credit options to enable all those in clinical practice to understand and assess the impact of the changes to mental health law.
