Abstract
Shortly after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the prorogation of Parliament, Christina Papagiannouli and Evi Stamatiou performed Waiting for Brexit on 6 September 2019 at the 2019 TaPRA Gallery, as part of the annual Theatre and Performance Research Association conference in Exeter. Waiting for Brexit by The Etheatre Project is a semi-adaptation semi-autobiographical cyberformance on UpStage. In Waiting for Brexit, participants are invited to share their own Brexit stories and messages before and during the live performance, while Breaking News, the Home Office, BOJO, MIGO and POTUS build their Brexit narratives. This performative text looks at some of the key lessons learned through the experience of developing and performing Waiting for Brexit for online and on-site audiences.
