Abstract
An apparently light-hearted poetry writing exercise suitable for both adults and children, which rapidly builds trust in a group and implicitly interrogates question of the role of the unasked, surprise, juxtaposition and incongruity in giving birth to originality in writing. It is a first experience of collaboration, demonstrating the gains to be had from a disciplined renunciation of control.
