Abstract

In this paper, we carried out a simulation study to improve a wideband four-element triangular dielectric resonator antenna (TDRA) based on a 50 Ω L-shaped coaxial feed. A dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is designed and simulated using the commercial software HFSS. Simulation results are found in good agreement with the theoretical results of the literature. The proposed antenna characteristics are also compared with single and four-element TDRA with a simple/conventional coaxial feed. The reached bandwidth at lower resonant frequency band (4.25-7.45GHz) provides nearly 55% bandwidth enhancement (|S11|<-10 dB) with a gain enhancement of 180% reaching 8.5dB.
