Abstract

This paper outlines the state of the art, challenges and potential solutions for eyesight screening digital applications for small children. Many digital applications are available for adults' eye screening, but there is limited literature regarding small children eyesight testing digital applications. The idea behind this research is to highlight the importance of empowering the users to do initial eyesight screening tests in their own homes. However, due to children's lack of concentration and inability to read letters and charts, the traditional eyesight screening digital applications are not practical. Therefore, this study proposes eye-health tests through playful, serious games incorporated in digital solutions. The authors hope that such a creative digital application can revolutionise eye-health screening at homes and improve the efficiency of health services.
