Abstract

Learning outcomes. This article discusses social phobia. After reading this article, reviewing the recommended reading and reflecting on your practice you will be able to :- Discuss the evidence-based knowledge that underpins theories of social phobia, understanding models of social phobia and associated cognitive and behavourial interventions. Provide therapy with a suitable client under the supervision of a cognitive behaviour therapist. Reflect upon the therapy provided and review the strengths and weaknesses of models of social phobia and interventions associated with these in day to day clinical practice.
