Abstract

In this research article, a compact slot antenna is designed using HFSS software. The designed antenna resonant frequency is 2.4 GHz, which is suitable for wireless local area networks (WLAN). The radiating element of the antenna consists of a semicircular slot and an arc-shaped slot. The two slots are fixed very near, and it is easily fed by using a 50Ω microstrip line to attain the required operating mode at2.4 GHz. The overall size of the antenna shown is only 30× 14 × 0.8 mm3. The simple configuration and low profile of the proposed antenna make it suitable for WLAN operation. The simulated antenna parameters are validated using CST software.
