Abstract

Community intellectual disability nurses work with a wide cross-section of people with intellectual disabilities and agencies. This chapter will explore current and changing roles of intellectual disability nurses working in the community. This will be contextualised within the Nursing and Midwifery Council for the United Kingdom and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland standards and requirements for competence.
