Abstract

This paper highlights the benefits of competency assessments and the methods by which crime scene investigators in the United Kingdom are assessed. It deals with the key organizations of The Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners and Skills for Justice, along with the use of assessment and development centers. In conclusion, the paper suggests that the use of competency assessment is a positive step forward.
