Abstract
The article looks at the education of TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) teachers in Great Britain as theoretical changes to STLE (second language teacher education) gain support. The popularity of short-term TESOL training courses is discussed as well as an alternative course that emphasizes reflective activities on learning experience and a commitment to student teacher inquiry into individual beliefs.
