Drawing on a small-scale research study, Fiona Brookman, Lesley Noaks and Emma Wincup discuss some of the main difficulties experienced by remand prisoners and consider the extent to which their 'access to justice' might be enhanced through legislation enshrined in the Human Rights Act.
