A review of sustainable supply chain management in the textile and clothing industry of Asian emerging countries

Abstract

This paper comprehensively provides a systematic literature review of sustainable supply chain management in the textile and clothing industry of Asian Emerging Countries, investigating the challenges for this sector. A total of 87 articles published in academic journals between 2012 and October 2020 were reviewed. The results reveal that sustainable supply chain management could leverage the sustainable competitive advantage among business along with sustainable factors such as collaboration, stakeholders’ influence, compliance standards, social responsibility, governance mechanism and environmental issues. The proposed framework provides researchers the foundations for future research in this area, as well as supporting practitioners in accessing best practices.
