Description
The Matrix investigated how digital data from archaeological excavations can be more consistently recorded, analysed, disseminated and archived in a way that is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Re-useable (FAIR). In particular, the work addresses the lack of standardised approaches to the digital archiving and reuse of archaeological data stratigraphic and phasing data, essential for other investigators to revisit and reuse excavation data. Ceri Binding developed an open source Phasing Analysis tool, incorporating temporal data analysis and validation against the dating evidence recorded for found objects. Results were published in Internet Archaeology.
