Project Details
Description
The Data-ARC project investigated interdisciplinary connections between scientific datasets to enable discovery, access, and reuse, focussing on the North Atlantic area. The open-access outcomes are intended to enable a more holistic approach ensuring complex data collected over the past decades are discoverable, accessible, and understandable to other researchers and non-specialists enabling large scale, deep interdisciplinary analysis.
In the latter stages, the project identified a requirement for the development of a tool that could that explained the search results obtained from the data discovery tool – helping to more clearly show the relationships between the query, the central concept map and the underlying data. Ceri Binding contributed an interactive visualisation tool that helps explain the search results forming part of the Data-Arc search and discovery tool based on an underlying concept map.
