Project Details

Description

The primary objective is to pump-prime research that will help to minimise harm among people who use heroin. The goal is to pilot a small-scale collaborative study to inform the development of a proposal for a larger UK-wide project for submission to the ESRC (Open Research Grant).

The pilot study will enable us to test the feasibility of the research design and strengthen our bid by enabling us to demonstrate our ability to conduct the research and the value for money (and for society) that the project offers. The project aligns with the USW 2030 strategy, in particular its vision of changing lives and our world for the better, its focus on inclusion and engagement with external partners.

The proposed research seeks to improve understanding of the lifestyles of people who use heroin. This is important given that deaths from heroin use are at record high levels and most of these deaths are preventable.
