Description
This research aims to develop a multimedia approach to embodied skills and examines their role in decision-making for people undergoing or working with clients going through crucial life transitions. It explores how to make research approaches more accessible and applicable through innovative, embodied approaches.
As part of her research process, Acarón offered activities to support research students in deciding on topics, led a network wide training seminar for RCBC Wales Community of Scholars on impostor syndrome and how to creatively engage with research (Feb 2024). She created a bespoke offering of CPD workshops focusing on embodied skills in professional practice, which helped students from USW across all programmes within the Faculty of Business and Creative Industries (FBCI) and the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education (FLSE) focus on their graduate identity and unique value propositions, building confidence in networking and pitching their ideas to shareholders. From October 2023-April 2024, Thania ran these workshops as part of Professional Practice modules for BA Nursing, MA Songwriting, MA Drama, BA Media/Journalism, BA Theatre & Drama, MSc Management, BA Creative Therapeutic Arts, BA Biology, BA Occupational Therapy and BA Social Work, and as part of a Negotiation Challenge between USW and University of Trento (Nov 2023). Acarón has a longstanding partnership with the USW Business Clinic directed by Martyn Rowling to run Decision Making through Movement and Movement Styles in Negotiation workshops as part of their standing collaboration with MBA Global.
