Angles and Standpoints: demystifying the concepts of ‘youth perspective’ and ‘youth mainstreaming’

The European Year of Youth 2022 led to the European Commission undertaking to establish ‘youth mainstreaming’ in all its work. The Heads of States and Governments of the Council of Europe met in Iceland in May 2023 to make a Declaration, United around our Values, in which they determined that a ‘youth perspective’ should permeate all of its work. This Youth Knowledge Book draws examples of both mainstreaming and perspective from beyond as well as within the youth sector to make more conceptual and practical sense of the meaning of these terms.
