Faculty of Life Sciences & Education
Opportunities for developing staff research potential
The University and Faculty wish to make a major investment in the next generation of researchers/scholars. As part of the planning for the next REF (2020) the Faculty is very pleased to be able to offer the following support for staff to develop their research careers:
Three Early Career Researchers (0.2 FTE for 3 years) and two Fellowships (0.5 FTE for 3 years)
This support is in addition to staff’s current allocation of research time i.e. 12.5% or 20% if linked to Research Institute.
Applications will be judged against the criteria for ECR or Fellowships (see below) as well as the following:
1] scientific rigour of proposed programme of research
2] potential significance of proposed programme of research
3] impact of the proposed programme of research
Programmes of research demonstrating cross-school or interdisciplinary collaboration are particularly welcomed. In particular, those individuals who can support the current research themes of the faculty cognate groups are encouraged to apply.
