Personal profile

Teaching interests

My teaching interests focus on delivering a dynamic and applied approach to business education rooted in real-world problem-solving and interdisciplinary learning. Since joining the University of South Wales, I have developed and delivered curricula aligned with the USW 2030 strategy, emphasizing challenge-based learning, collaborative problem-solving, and industry engagement. My module, Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, and Global Leadership, integrates contemporary theories and practices in global business, helping students deepen their understanding of cross-cultural management, diversity, ethics, power dynamics, and strategic leadership. I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive learning environment that respects diverse perspectives and promotes equity and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching.

Research interests

My research interests lie at the intersections of decolonial theory, legal pluralism, and gender, with a particular emphasis on the complexities introduced by foreign-imposed legal reforms in post-conflict environments. By concentrating on policy development and legal analysis, I critically assess how colonial biases permeate legal frameworks and shape social justice outcomes, specifically exploring their impact on women’s agency within plural legal systems. My recent scholarly work includes comprehensive analyses of Afghanistan's 2004 Constitution through gendered and decolonial lenses, highlighting the shortcomings of international legal reforms and engaging with feminist, pacifist, and relational theories.

Further, I utilize relationality as an innovative analytical framework to investigate multifaceted social realities, focusing on non-violent social movements and the role of indigenous knowledge in shaping resistance strategies. This approach enables me to examine the relational dynamics of violence and non-violence in conflict-affected regions, including the significant contributions of movements such as the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement in Pakistan. Through this interdisciplinary framework, I aim to challenge and reframe conventional narratives in international relations and foreign interventions, contributing to a deeper understanding of justice, empowerment, and sustainable peace in contexts marked by conflict and legal pluralism.
