Research interests

Research Interests include:

  • Life Cycle Assessment of novel sustainable processes and products
  • Systems and economic analysis of emerging sustainable technologies
  • Scale up and integration of novel sustainable technologies into industrial practice
  • Anaerobic digestion, biogas and biomethane production
  • Fermentation of carbon gases and hydrogen to products such as e-methane

Teaching interests

Lecturing experience at Degree and Master level in topics including:

  • Sustainability
  • Solid Waste Management
  • Biogas Upgrading
  • Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage
  • Economics of sustainable technologies (e.g. hydrogen)
  • Contaminated Land Management
  • Disaster Management

Supervision

Regular supervision of MSc Dissertations, usually in the area of systems and economic analysis of sustainable technologies.

PhD supervision experience both as Director of Studies (1 ongoing) and Supervisor (5 completed, 2 ongoing).

Skills

Multi-disciplinary researcher with a grounding in Physical Geography. I enjoy the process of breaking down and understanding complex relationships within and between natural and industrial processes, and find this ability to break down complex problems applicable across the work environment. Skills include:
