Responsibilities
I am currently the award tutor for the MSc in Community Regeneration and am also co-supervising three PhDs.
The vast majority of the research that I’ve worked on in my career has been with grassroots community and third sector organisations in South Wales. In addition I sit on several steering and advisory groups for local and national initiatives and am a board member of Community Development Cymru.
In my previous role as a research fellow with the Programme for Community Regeneration I worked on a wide range of community based research projects which included community audits, feasibility studies, and project evaluations. These were typically action based pieces of research conducted in partnership with the communities in question.
More recently my research interests have been focussed on the interface between Community Regeneration and Sustainable Development. I have a particular interest in the role of community food initiatives in the development of sustainable food systems and have conducted several pieces of research in this area. The most recent of which is the evaluation of the Food Supply and Distribution strand of the Making Local Food Work Programme.
