Stacey’s diverse fashion practice has been showcased internationally at such venues as London Fashion Week, Tent London @ London Design Festival, Techtextil in Frankfurt, The Hunt Collection in Ireland, as well as during the Nokia Young Fashion Designer of the Year Awards exhibition (2009) in Dublin, where she was a finalist. A natural collaborator, her unique viewpoint has seen her collaborating with fine artists (Louder then Bombs 2010 at the Stanley Picker Gallery), working with interaction designers (Interaction Design Centre at the University of Limerick), and in costume (The Women by Clare Luce Booth/Teaspach theatre company). She has also exhibited fashion collections at London Fashion Week, as well as statically at Vauxhall Fashion Scout and Tent London at London Design Festival. Her work has been featured on Stylesight, WGSN, The Sunday Business Post, The Irish Times, Limerick Now, Gutter Magazine, BobbinTalk to name a few. Stacey has worked with Ashish N Soni in New Delhi, India; with Private/Erika Trotzig (London); NW3 by Hobbs Ltd. (London); as well as Di Mainstone (London) and Joanne Hynes (Ireland). She continues to develop her personal practice around her teaching commitments. Stacey’s creative fashion practice engages with narrative to influence her design outcomes and results in a body of fashion responses. She takes a conceptual and sensitive approach to fashion design. Combined with a passion for the craft of tailoring, she utilizes archived tailoring patterns as well as more diverse materials, such as microencapsulated fragrance. She leads a variety of diverse studio practice modules, with particular interest in portfolio presentation and sketchbook outputs as a vehicle for the creative journey of all her students. In addition, she delivers contextual studies across all levels of the undergraduate programme. Stacey has undertaken a Strategic Insight Placement with Peacocks LTD. in Cardiff.
