Sharan Johnstone

I am the Head of Subject for Cyber Security and Digital Forensics and the extensive course portfolio that sits within the subject area.  I am the Director of the NCSC Gold awarded, Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE-CES) in Cyber Security Education and the manage the Cyber First and NDEC Outreach teams within it. 

In addition to this, I am responsible for developing industry partnerships and engagement within Cyber Security to support the cutting-edge learning opportunities on our courses and the Head of Talent and Skills for USW, in the Cardiff Capital region's  Cyber Innovation Hub.

I am an experienced lecturer in Digital Forensics, Digital Crime Scene Investigation, Governance, Business Management and Professional Practice and prior to Academic, have extensive experience as a Global Business Operations Manager in Voice and Data Telecommunications.

My research interests focus on data privacy and the accuracy and reliability of digital evidence.

I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a HEA approved external examiner and currently externally examine a PCDA and DHEP programme of study. I am also a member of the British Computer Society and the Charter Society for Forensic Sciences.
