About

Sarah Carter is Senior Lecturer and Course Leader of the BA (Hons.) Illustration. She leads modules in Critical Research, Client Studies and Illustration for Location with specialist knowledge in the areas of visual research and communication theory. She is passionate about providing real world eduction through links with industry, as a result she has worked in partnership with John Lewis, Urban Outfitters, the Royal Horticultural Society, National Museum Wales, RSPB Cymru and Welsh National Opera.

She has extensive experience of teaching visual communication, drawing and design theory at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a variety of Higher Education establishments. Together with her academic experience Sarah has developed and led a range of creative workshops, seminars and presentations for art galleries across Wales and the National Museum of Wales.

Sarah has exhibited her artwork internationally and was chosen to represent Wales at Festival Interceltique in France in 2010. Her illustration portfolio includes collaborations with New York fashion photographer Ryan Michael Kelly, Welsh clothing company Howies and Lawrence King Publishing.
