Liz Ellis' background is in Disability Studies and Inclusive Research. Her work focuses on rural community research around health and wellbeing, drawing on participatory and coproduced approaches to work equitibly with community participants.
Current projects include:
Healthy Young Minds which aims to coproduce an intervention with school children to exploit the positive impact of natural spaces on the health and wellbeing of young people.
Rural Co-design which aims to increase access to rural heritage assets by easily ignored and marginalised communities living in remote parts of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
Liz is passionate about widening the appeal of research outwith the academic community and has particular expertise in training up and supporting community members to be peer researchers, including people with learning disabilities and high school children.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
