Personal profile

Teaching interests

I am a senior lecturer and course leader in post-compulsory education and training, and was pleased to be able to return to my home city to work at the University of South Wales (Newport Campus).

I have worked with post-14 students in further education colleges across England for over 15 years as a lecturer, tutor, and coach, whilst undertaking roles as an advanced practitioner, and mentor.

Research interests

My main research interests focus on further education, specifically further education tutorials, pastoral support, and critical pedagogy.

I enjoy being part of the network #FEResearchMeet, and it was a pleasure to host the first meeting in Wales in December 2019, supporting FE research networks in the region. I am a convenor for the South East Wales region of the Learning and Skills Research Network (LSRN).
