Experience

Jay is Head of Subject (Sport) for Football Coaching and Development at the University of South Wales (USW) and has a passion for making learning as accessible as possible. His key responsibilities are to manage programmes and staff aligned to Undergraduate (Blended Learning), Postgraduate and Partner College provision within Sport.

Jay is also part of the teaching team within the undergraduate blended learning courses and leads the Business of Football module at Level 6. He has also been an active supervisor of postgraduate taught students for over five years.

Having attained a Masters Degree in Sports Leadership and Management in 2013, Jay completed his PgCDPPHE qualification in 2017 at USW and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2018.

Professionally, Jay comes from a sports development and coaching background. Prior to USW, Jay worked for the Football Association of Wales (FAW) for 9 years as a Senior Partnership Manager. His remit was to work with key stakeholders within the grassroots game around areas such as volunteer workforce development, facility development and participation growth.
