Research interests

- The investigation of suicidality (e.g., thoughts, attempts) and self-harm in obsessive compulsive and related disorders, and depression; the link between the use of coercive methods of behavioural control and suicidality.
- Aversive stimulation and its relation to the development, maintenance and/or exacerbation of mental health disorders. The effects of various types of punishment on health-related problems, i.e., chronic fatigue or chronic pain.  
- Investigating and refining therapeutic approaches for obsessive-compulsive and related disorders (e.g, exposure therapy and response prevention) and depression.
