Personal profile

Experience

I am a practicing artist working in the studio and public realm. I have a long standing history of working in community and public contexts in Britain, Egypt Japan and Italy, on residencies and commissions in education, healthcare and urban settings. From the outset, my work in this field has been led by a belief in the value and necessity for community engagement and participation in art practice as a means of self and collective expression. Since 1999, I have collaborated with other artists, architects, engineers and project teams in Wales and England to develop and realise public art projects as part of urban regeneration schemes. Since this time I have worked in partnership with artist David Mackie and collaborated with many other artists. These endeavours stem from a fundamental belief in the power of the environment to influence well-being and quality of life.
