Hannah Menard

Hannah is interested in Clinical Legal Education, and is has undertaken research on enhancing student engagement through the Legal Advice Clinic. Hannah is also interested in Public Legal Education, and in particular how Street Law can be used to make law accessible and empowering for the public, especially amongst young people and communities who may have limited access to legal knowledge. 

Hannah qualified as a solicitor with Morgans Solicitors in Cardiff in 2007, specialising in Family Law. During her time at Morgans Solicitors, Hannah was responsible for the firm’s contracts with the Legal Aid Agency, which included contracts to provide both face to face and telephone advice in the areas of Family, Employment, Housing, Debt and Welfare Benefits.

Hannah subsequently worked for Jacklyn Dawson Solicitors in Newport and Monmouth as a Family Solicitor, before joining the University of South Wales (USW) in 2016 as a Lecturer in Legal Practice based in the School of Law, Accounting and Finance.

In May 2018, Hannah was appointed as the Director of the Legal Advice Clinic at USW, which is a student led, pro bono clinic offering legal advice to members of the public, students and staff.

In August 2025, Hannah was also appointed as Head of Subject for Law at USW.

Hannah is an experienced Consultant working with cpm21. She specialises in assisting law firms with SQM compliance, Lexcel implementation/compliance, file reviews and delivers training.

Hannah is a member and trustee of the Clinical Legal Education Organisation (CLEO), and is actively involved in a number of community based projects including Streetlaw and ELiPS (Employment Litigant in Person Scheme).
Hannah sits on the LawWorks Cymru Advisory Group.
Hannah is currently serving as a member of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Regional Advice Network steering group.
