Experience
Gwyneth has worked for more than 15 years in the design, communications and media industries. She has worked with retail, lifestyle and fashion clients, managing a variety of campaigns that have included, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Media and Design disciplines. Throughout her career, Gwyneth has worked on providing links with business and education, by creating fashion retail projects that have incorporated realistic commercial experience for students.
Expertise
A BA graduate in Communications and Linguistics, and a Fashion Design and Illustration graduate of the National School of Design in Sydney, Australia, Gwyneth has worked with a range of global clients, and continues to run a fashion focused communications consultancy, specialising in social media and new media communication. Gwyneth also runs the successful fashion blog www.cardifffashion.com which has been termed Wales’ No 1 Fashion Blog by The Guardian. The blog encourages contributions from students, providing valuable experience of the new age of fashion promotion. Gwyneth is a passionate believer that the new digital communications revolution has and will continue to fundamentally change the way in which the fashion industry creates, promotes and communicates brands.
Skills
The Fashion Design degree course at CCI is focused on ensuring that students have a clear and practical understanding of the connection between being innovative and creative designers and creating business opportunities that enable the sustainability of that creativity. Gwyneth’s role incorporates modules and responsibilities that give the students relevant and valuable experience of the fashion industry and business in general. In December 2010 eight of her students were finalists in the Welsh Entrepreneur Awards and attended the awards ceremony at Cardiff City Hall.
