Research interests
Dr Filippos Proedrou is Research Fellow in Social Policy and International Affairs in the University of South Wales.
His research interests are energy and climate policy, Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean geopolitics, and EU politics.
Dr Filippos' Proedrou's book Energy Policy and Security under Climate Change has been listed among the 20 best books of all time in the Energy Policy (9th) and Renewable Energy (20th) categories by Book Authority.
Filippos has been an Academic Fellow with the National Assembly for Wales, advising the Committee on Climate Change Environment and Rural Affairs on how Wales can bridge its climate policy gap (see https://seneddresearch.blog/2019/07/31/new-publication-addressing-the-climate-policy-gap-in-wales and https://theconversation.com/how-small-states-can-cut-their-carbon-emissions-to-net-zero-wales-has-already-started-126049)
Previously, he worked as Research Associate in Energy Law and Policy for Queen Mary University and for the Institute of International Relations in Prague. He was also Visiting Lecturer in the International Hellenic University in Thessaloniki and in VUZF University in Sofia, as well as Adjunct Lecturer in the American College of Thessaloniki and the International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, Thessaloniki.
Since 2019, Filippos has been a Higher Academy Fellow.
