Professor David Shearer is a Professor in Elite Performance Psychology at the University of South Wales and a HCPC registered Sport and Exercise Psychologist. He has published extensively on a range of topics in sport psychology and sport science and specialises in elite performance research on team dynamics (e.g., collective efficacy), psychological/physical factors related to recovery (e.g., mood, sleep, hormones) and psychological factors underpinning extreme sport participation. He is the Performance Psychology Lead for the Welsh Institute of Performance Science which conducts performance solution-driven research to aid Welsh athletes perform at Commonwealth and Olympic games.
