Research interests

Amila Perera is working as a lecturer at University of South Wales , where he is directing BSc and MSc Programs in Computer Security. He is a researcher and a practitioner in information security area with over eight years of industrial and academic experience. 

Further, he is an information security professional/digital forensic consultant with CISSP,GCFA, C|EH certifications and also he holds the memberships in HEA-UK, ISC2,GIAC, F3- Forensics Community and BCS.

He has specialised in researching effective solutions to address the challenges in digital forensics and intrusion pattern analysis, Incident Response and Threat Hunting(Malware Analysis). Amila has participated as a speaker at numerous conferences and workshops on various information security/digital forensics topics in Europe and Asia Pacific region.

Amila is also providing his contribution to the TARIAN-Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) as a voluntary officer on improving cyber security resilience in the region.

Responsible Modules : Ethical Hacking, Advanced Data Recovery Techniques, Incident Response, Security and threat Management and Team Project Pentesting.
