Teaching interests

Currently, seconded as University of South Wales innovation champion from main role as Head of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering, PhD in Computer Science, Ingénieur (M.Eng.) in Electronic Engineering, MIEEEMIETSFHEA.
Modules taught include C programming (year 1), Project Management (year 3), Product Innovation (Masters) and Advanced Digital Signal Processing (Masters)

Research interests

I am interested in topics around signal processing and computer pattern recognition, particularly when applied to biomedical problems. I am currently involved in 3 separate KESS grants with: Cymtec Ltd., Global Laser and TANGIO Ltd (starting in 2020). I am also a co-applicant in a 2020 COVID-19 grant by the Welsh Government to develop rapid testing with GX design group.

Completed past projects include a research and innovation grant with HPC Wales, EPSRC project looking at image reconstruction in Magnetic Induction Tomography and Welsh crucible grant to with Cardiff university on using computer vision for autism research.
